Modesty – Where did you go? You see young girls and women and men that believe that showing “everything and all” is somehow OK and cool.
Pride – It took a trip with Modesty. I hope it returns soon.
Respect – It seems it has been lost and replaced with “disrespect”.
Language – Where has the kindness gone? It seems that curse words are just as free flowing as “Yes Ma’am; No Ma’am – No Sir; Yes Sir – Please and Thank you used to be. It used to be said “would you talk that way in front of your Mom or Grandmother” well remember they say kids repeat what they hear from others. Makes you really stop to think.
Blame – The first thing we reach for when things start to fall apart – and we don’t start by looking in the mirror.
... Entitlement – Where did this come from? I want it so I should get it, theory that you see so much of now. I know people who really believe “it is all about me, and I don’t care who I hurt in the process”.
Kindness – We should treat others the way we would want to be treated; not “you’ve made me mad, so watch this”.
It is time that we all take a stand and lead by a Godly example – speak truth into your children. Help others when they need it, they don’t have to ask. Remember to stop and think about the cross others could be carrying and sometimes just a smile or a hug can make a huge difference.
Work hard to love the ones close to you, and don’t take for granted that “they will always be there”. Remember there are things you will NEVER get back – a stone after it is thrown; a word after it is spoken; a moment after it has passed.
God – Where is he? If you had to think very long on this, then maybe it’s time to go find him and invite him into your life. Look around at everything you have, and ask where did it all come from? If you think you have it because you deserve it or worked for it all on your own, think again, God should be thanked for allowing you to be a steward of it. Take care of it!
