hi again....sorry for my rushed entry last time....I can't even remember what was going on...but anyways...I'm on vacation now, so I should have a lottt more time to do things and get caught up on stuff in the next few weeks, and won't have to worry about stopping, then 
coming back to it later.....hmm I went to visit a cave here back on Friday before I went on my leave....not that I"m into caves or anything...I honestly didn't even know this thing was even here.....It was good to see, but I"m not into the "earth earth" like the dirt and rock portion stuff of the earth, and what's underneath the ground, or the different rock formations, and what helps form them etc...etc...I was about to die I was so bored......I know it's an interest to some others, just not to me.....I guess you have to be into that stuff to get excited about it, and I 
definately am not.....It was sheer torture to drag me through a dripping wet underground cave where it was dark everywhere just to see how it had formed over the last 300,000 years.....This p
lace was like everything all in this one theme park thing....there was Shuri Castle for the visitors center, a Pineapple Park Area, a Glass Factory Area, a Habu Snake Museum and show for 
the snakes, and I can't stand snakes either, so not for me.....then just shopping and 
things like that......Everything that was there, I had been to here before....It was just all together....I didn't even know this place was here.....I kept hearing about it, but I didn't know that it involved everything...pretty clever idea I 
thought, but I still would want to go to see the real thing just for the experience......I will go again sometime after my company leaves, I'm just not sure when yet....Hope everyone enjoys the pics that I took...some were hard to see and didn't turn out right, but I got a few good ones for the most part.....Have a goo

hey again it's another week...... so glad that it's flying by for me for some reason....I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and got the most out of it what you could at least...I barely even remember mine...but doesn't really matter cause right now doesn't really matter to me anyways.....anything that happens after my time here is what counts....this place is just a stump in the road as far as I'm concerned and the only proof that I've actually been here to this place will be the pics I have...Anyways...that is a really good website I found up there....I don't have time to look at it right now, but just thought I would put it on here for everyone else...I got a few magazines that I managed to actually find here, and also some that my family sent to me from back home that I asked for...ones they didn't even think of sending to us over here to get.....I haven't even gotten a chance to look at any of them yet cause I"m always gone, and I don't dare bring them with me, cause everyone else around me would grab for them wanting to look at them as well, and I would be left with nothing but shreads...So I don't bring my things out of the house really that are valuable like that....Yesterday I get harassed yet again over not liking this stuff over here foodwise....I don't like anything here, so I guess that comes to a total and utter shock to those who do like whatever it is.....(I'll finish tonight I have to finish getting ready for my work and go to breakfast......have a good day everyone!!!!!!xooxoxo) hey everyone i'm back.....so did anyone else see the eclipse today?????? how weird was that???!!!! Hi again everyone...thanks again for stopping by here....It's Sunday here finally just this week to get through and I'm freeeee.....I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far...mine is halfway over with...hmm.... funny story I just HAVE TO tell to everyone who comes by here to keep up with me and whatever I"m doing over here in Japan......Once I get enough energy again, and not feel so tired from everything I'm kept doing everyday right now, I know I won't be able to stop laughing about this....so okay, anyways!! someone told me a few days ago, that one guy that they work with left one of those thumb drive things that you use with a computer laying around....of course they weren't goin
g to leave it alone, and put it in to see what was on it....I wasn't told everything of course, but they told me that one of the pics was either this guy's wife or girlfriend on the bed with very little to
barely nothing on, and beside her was one of those canister things of Parmesan cheese standing up like you put on Italian food, mostly spaghetti whenever you have it....okay so that gives Italy a whole new meaning...I honestly asked if she was posing with that thing, and it was supposed to be that way, and they told me they guessed it was just left laying around, and I guess whoever these pe
ople are eat in bed, and 
then just leave the condiments and whatever else laying around where ever they feel like it....I thought they were like shaking it on each other whenever I heard that, then I was told different and thought it wasn't only dead funny, but also beyond disgusting....I already knew these people here were past the level of stupidity and total ignorance, that's why I have absolutely 
nothing to do with a
ny of them to begin with...but that....ummm..yeah...okkkk....It had me laughing a good 5 min until I felt even more exhausted than I already do, but I couldn't wait to tell everyone all over the world about that....I hope it spreads to the north and south poles as well as the rest of the continents.....So anyone who brings your thumb drive things out of your own house, be careful where you leave them cause people will nosy around and look on them, then tell everyone else what you have on th

ing computer related out of my house cause I"m far too many different places in the daytime I know I would definitely lose something like that with personal stuff on it, and then of course never ever hear the end of it for the rest of the time that I'm here....and I don't wanna be tormented in that way...I already am enough as it is just by being here...hmm Anyways...just for the record though, no I don't eat in my bed or drag food or other stuff in there, and then just leave it laying around in there...I'm either at 
restaurants or at the table when it's mealtime....not in my bed dragging food
in there with me and dropping crumbs and sauces and whatever else where you have to sleep.....I've never done that ever......I have to put up with living in a small place now, 
but I keep it as neat and clean as I possibly can, and dragging food all over the place doesn't even cut it with me...esp in the bed....yukkkk who would do that?!?!?! I guess we found one person here who does, even though I have absolutely noooo idea who this is!!!!

skiing by the end of this month, so I'll get pics of that cause it's tooo much fun to pass up, and I don't know where else I will be able to do that at once I leave here....some lake I guess and I don't do the lake thing much...beaches are fine if they have sand....around here they don't really...it's a

hard jagged rock and coral stuff....I've never seen anything so disappointing ever....Lakes are just dirty and I won't even go near those things.....at least the ones I've gotten dragged to before were
completely filthy.....I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer, and staying cool, it's in the 90's or 100's here every single day now....I can't stand it....I'm always
with some kind of a sunburn no matter how hard I try to prevent that from happening, and the bugs and those locusts/cicadas whichever one you prefer to call those nasty things won't ever shut up this time of year.....it doesn't help to be outside and sweat non-stop, and then have biting flies that won't stop landing on you all over.....It's like living in a large dilapidated camp ground or something cause that's exactly what this place reminds me of......well I finally got all the pics on here so I'll start putting them on here until I have to go to dinner later...hope you all enjoy...they turned out better than I expected...these are my summer ones and there are still more to come....take care everyone and enjoy what's left of your weekend...hope to talk with you all soon.....xoxoxo

(hi all here's my pics from the Aquarium I went to again for like the 5th time.....the bottom ones are of me and a few others in the shark display room they have there, and that is how big it really is standing next to it if you are able to see the whole pic etc..... the bottom ones are of the absolutely boring dolphin show thing I got dragged to in the dying heat that I did not want to go to...the whole entire thing was in Japanese so I had no idea what on earth they were saying, much less did I even care.....I can't think at the moment what those other things are I went completely blank all of a sudden...I've been doing this since this morning on and off.....cause I will have more this next weekend then I leave for the resort...I don't want 4-5 weeks of pics building up on me.....I would never get them on here.....but that is me on the far left...I"m sure most of you all know what I already look like on cam, I just never like my pics ever ever I don't care how they turn out, so it took a lot for me to finally put a couple of them on here of me.....I hope it doesn't bother me so much I get up in the middle of the night and delete them I"m worried sick about it and still am not used to the fact of having my pics on the net like this....Anyways...hope everyone enjoys...this is the 2nd largest Aquarium in the world...there is more to this, and I'll put the website on here soon once I find my brochure on it again....I still have more pics to add but I should be about done...wow I'm so tired from doing this!!! hope everyone enjoys getting some insite into my life over here...yes I do know how to have a good time once I get away from this place and out in the rest of the world!!! talk with you all soon!!!!)Saturday, July 18th, 2009

If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.
Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.
This meow is actually a purr mixed with a high-pitched cry. While people usually think of cat purring as a sign of happiness, some cats make this purr-cry sound when they want to be fed. The study showed that humans find these mixed calls annoying and difficult to ignore.
"The embedding of a cry within a call that we normally associate with contentment is quite a subtle means of eliciting a response," said Karen McComb of the University of Sussex. "Solicitation purring is probably more acceptable to humans than overt meowing, which is likely to get cats ejected from the bedroom."

Previous research has shown similarities between cat cries and human infant cries.
McComb suggests that the purr-cry may subtly take advantage of humans' sensitivity to cries they associate with nurturing offspring. Also, including the cry within the purr could make the sound "less harmonic and thus more difficult to habituate to," she said.
McComb got the idea for the study from her experience with her own cat, who would consistently wake her up in the mornings with a very insistent purr. After speaking with other cat owners, she learned that some of their cats also made the same type of call. As a scientist who studies vocal communication in mammals, she decided to investigate the manipulative meow.
Tough to test
Setting up the experiments wasn't easy. While the felines used purr-cries around their familiar owners, they were not eager to make the same cries in front of strangers. So McComb and her team trained cat owners to record their pets' cries - capturing the sounds made by cats when they were seeking food and when they were not. In all, the team collected recordings from 10 different cats.
The researchers then played the cries back for 50 human participants, not all of whom owned cats. They found that humans, even if they had never had a cat themselves, judged the purrs recorded while cats were actively seeking food - the purrs with an embedded, high-pitched cry - as more urgent and less pleasant than those made in other contexts.
When the team re-synthesised the recorded purrs to remove the embedded cry, leaving all else unchanged, the human subjects' urgency ratings for those calls decreased significantly.
McComb said she thinks this cry occurs at a low level in cats' normal purring, "but we think that cats learn to dramatically exaggerate it when it proves effective in generating a response from humans." In fact, not all cats use this form of purring at all, she said, noting that it seems to most often develop in cats that have a one-on-one relationship with their owners rather than those living in large households, where their purrs might be overlooked.
The results were published in the July 14 issue of the journal Current Biology.

If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.
Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.
This meow is actually a purr mixed with a high-pitched cry. While people usually think of cat purring as a sign of happiness, some cats make this purr-cry sound when they want to be fed. The study showed that humans find these mixed calls annoying and difficult to ignore.
"The embedding of a cry within a call that we normally associate with contentment is quite a subtle means of eliciting a response," said Karen McComb of the University of Sussex. "Solicitation purring is probably more acceptable to humans than overt meowing, which is likely to get cats ejected from the bedroom."

Previous research has shown similarities between cat cries and human infant cries.
McComb suggests that the purr-cry may subtly take advantage of humans' sensitivity to cries they associate with nurturing offspring. Also, including the cry within the purr could make the sound "less harmonic and thus more difficult to habituate to," she said.
McComb got the idea for the study from her experience with her own cat, who would consistently wake her up in the mornings with a very insistent purr. After speaking with other cat owners, she learned that some of their cats also made the same type of call. As a scientist who studies vocal communication in mammals, she decided to investigate the manipulative meow.
Tough to test
Setting up the experiments wasn't easy. While the felines used purr-cries around their familiar owners, they were not eager to make the same cries in front of strangers. So McComb and her team trained cat owners to record their pets' cries - capturing the sounds made by cats when they were seeking food and when they were not. In all, the team collected recordings from 10 different cats.
The researchers then played the cries back for 50 human participants, not all of whom owned cats. They found that humans, even if they had never had a cat themselves, judged the purrs recorded while cats were actively seeking food - the purrs with an embedded, high-pitched cry - as more urgent and less pleasant than those made in other contexts.
When the team re-synthesised the recorded purrs to remove the embedded cry, leaving all else unchanged, the human subjects' urgency ratings for those calls decreased significantly.
McComb said she thinks this cry occurs at a low level in cats' normal purring, "but we think that cats learn to dramatically exaggerate it when it proves effective in generating a response from humans." In fact, not all cats use this form of purring at all, she said, noting that it seems to most often develop in cats that have a one-on-one relationship with their owners rather than those living in large households, where their purrs might be overlooked.
The results were published in the July 14 issue of the journal Current Biology.

Okay so this is sad....we're about in the middle of this month now, and I"ve only posted like 5 times on here so far....Guess that should just tell everyone how busy I am, and I only keep adding more and more.....I started my scrapbook of everything I'm do
ing this summer, since I"ll probably never get to do it again.....I think it's turning out fabulous, and love how it's looking...that's all that matters anyways is the appearance of everything, right????! =) It still is a lot of work, and also keeping up this page, a
nd trying to keep in touch with everyone on here, or trying my best and hardest to do so....I'm sorry I didn't get to say anything over the weekend, I was sooooo exhausted, all I wanted to do was sleep continuously.....it was so hot,and I only got very few things done at all....I have a lot of new pics to put on here since the 4th of July here, and also last week some....We went to the Ocean Observatory and Glass Bottom Boat here back on Friday...It was great fun, an
d I absolutely LOVED it.....I will tell more about it when I have the time, I just wanted to stop in and say hi while I had some time right now, cause I will either be gone still, or sleeping.......Anyways, I will get them on here I hope by the end of the week.....I"ll also tell more about it so that it will make more sense to everyone, and so everyone won't be confused half to death.....Okay, sorry again, but I have to run a

ng steps around and around, and it went under the ocean...it had several rounded windows all around the inside and you looked out and could see fish swimming in the ocean all around.....it was just like scuba diving
without all that fuss, or being in a submarine....I got really great pics of it under there, and how it looked...it was really small, tight, and crowded, but the first thing I was reminded of was the Leaning Tower over in Italy, cause I went to that twice, and it seems that you just g
o around forever on small narrow steps going up and up...this one was the exact same way, only it went downnnn....you r
eally don't stay down there long much, it is just to get a glimpse of what it's like underwater, and get the experience for a short time.....hmm the Glass Bottom Boat thing was much nicer than the one I was on up at Okuma Resort, with a rusted bar thing going around it in the middle...still I didnt' think it was that much impressive, and there wasn't very many fish aroun
d here either.....very very scarce...not sure if it's because there is a lot of fishing that goes on here, or if they are in a different part......It was still nice to go on, but I was so worn out, I could hardly move afterwards, and I slept the entire w
eekend on and off...when I woke up finally, it was Saturday night, and I went to dinner, then Sunday came, and I still felt beat....I remember going to brunch, and then I was out the rest of the day I didn't want to do anything, or care about doing anything they had going on at this place.....then it was night again, and ordered dinner out, and had to get ready for the week again...ugggghhhhh I can't stand my life sometimes how everything flies by right before me whenever I don't wa
nt it to.....Anyways....I will get my pics on here eventually, and hopefully everything that I'm talking and talking about forever on here will finally make sence...I actually made it to another week without practically loosing my voice from talking so much....so we'll see how long that lasts.....Okay I"m going to take off now....I will get this finished, but it will take me a long time or the rest of the week....take care everyone and enjoy your week....
