hey again everyone... this week is flying by for me...hope you all are having a good week and everything is going along well in your corner of the world...I've decided to take a break from Okinawa Japan for awhile and share the pictures and experiences I had while still living over in Italy... I think that would be a lot more fasinating than just pictures and stories of going to the beach week after week.....This was in beautiful Verona, Italy in February 2004... This is believed to have been the house of Juliet from William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet." They actally both did exist, but very little is known about them, and it was so long ago, that to give comfort to others who found this story touching and tragic, this house was set aside in honor of Juliet. Everyone who is familiar would recognize it by the balcony that is very well known in the story....It was freezing cold that day, but I still was able to enjoy it getting the priveledge to be able to see things that had been
around for hundreds and hundreds of years....If you look closely by the doorway, there are small pieces of paper stuck on the wall....those are love notes from people who have come to visit this place from all over the world and they wrote a love note either to Juliet or the love in their life, and then you stuck it on the wall with chewing gum....I'm not a gum chewer, but still thought that was a fun idea and just did it that one time....We didn't get to see the inside of her house, because they were having a ceremony inside presenting awards, so we were just able to see the outside and around...Also, down the street from Juliet's house and this balcony that had been made famous, is the house that is believed to have been Romeo's....It's not as extraordinary or profound as the house to believed that was Juliet's, but it was still interesting to see all of this, and that this was taken so seriously from a story written centuries ago, that they dedicated a house to it, and held formal ceremonies in it...I remember now what it was...they were holding an awards ceremony inside for a group of people who participated in writing love poems and they were presenting awards to the winners....All of it was in Italian, so we wouldn't have known what they were saying anyways....I enjoyed this trip so very much and hope to go back again one day whenever it's not bone-chilling cold....maybe stick another note to the wall somewhere there, and be able to see the inside this time.... hope u all enjoyed reading about this...see you all again soon....
